What is Ayurveda?
In simplest terms…...Ayurveda is a way of life. It is the original diet and lifestyle plan. It has the same philosophical roots as Yoga and some of what we use comes from Yoga. The primary concepts are around understanding nature and balancing our bodies with nature. There is an emphasis on eating what is in season and using foods and spices as well as some simple daily routines to maintain health. Ayurveda is a tried and true system stemming from many years (at least 5000) of human trial and error.
What will I learn from an Ayurveda Consultation?
We are all part of nature, and through the lens of Ayurveda, you will learn which inherent qualities in nature you have in abundance as well as what qualities you may need more of in order to be in balance with nature.
Ayurveda is a preventative system and unlike Western Medicine, we treat the person, not the ailment or issue. Because we each have our own individual make-up, what my body requires may be very different from what your body requires. We will come up with an individualized approach to your health and wellness through food and lifestyle.
You will learn to listen to signs from your body and how to interpret them in order to nourish yourself in the most effective way.
Through utilizing food, spices, daily routines you will find a road to balance leading to a healthy mind, body, and soul.
Do you have a specific health concern? We’ll work together to determine the root of the issue and explore ways to best manage it.
Most importantly, you will learn how simple changes in diet, lifestyle, routines, and environment can create big changes in how you feel by bringing you into balance with the elements of your constitution, climate, and daily life.
