The teachers at Discover are highly qualified and unique! One client put it quite eloquently when she said, "The teachers here are like a bag of mixed nuts. Each a little different but all equally good." (E.V.)

Vicki began her journey with Yoga in her living room with a hand-full of DVD’s and the desire to increase her flexibility and strength. She enjoyed the Yoga videos but quickly craved more from her practice. To that, under the guidance of her first Yoga teacher, Cathy Coughlin, she began to increase her understanding of the many postures (asanas) and alignment. More importantly she began to notice a shift in her entire being ~ physically, mentally and spiritually. One class a week increased to two, then three, then four. The better she felt the more she wanted to practice. She enrolled in a 200-hour training, under the direction of Robin Anderson, and took her time working through the program in order to gain the most from her teachers and fellow students. Halfway through the program she began subbing at various yoga studios. A year after starting the program she earned her 200-hour certificate and began teaching regular classes at Living Yoga, the studio run by Cathy Coughlin.
When Cathy began a new adventure of her own, Vicki took over as lead instructor and manager of Living Yoga teaching all classes at the studio as well as facilitating the other aspects of the business. During this time she decided she wanted to have a studio of her own, realizing how much she herself gained from sharing her love of yoga with the wonderful students in her classes. In August 2012 that dream was realized the when Discover the Wonders Yoga opened it’s doors.
In April 2015 Vicki complete the Sacred Seeds Yoga School 300-Hour certification, under the direction of Jacqui Bonwell, becoming a 500-Hour certified Yoga Teacher. She completed training under Johnny Gillespie earning certification as a Balanced Athlete coach in 2014. In 2016 Vicki became certified in Yin Yoga under Sagel Urlacher. She has also completed training in Hip Hop Yoga under the teachings of Lynne Begier and Goldie Kaufenberg.
In November 2017, Vicki complete 200 hours of training in Ayurveda (Yoga's sister science/the study of life) at the Boston School of Ayurveda, and plans to continue her training eventually becoming an Ayurveda health councilor.
The style of Hatha Yoga that Vicki teaches is influenced by Kripalu and Vinyasa styles, focusing on asana, inner focus, breath-work, meditation in motion and relaxation. There is an emphasis on self-acceptance and approaching the practice with non-judgment, accepting yourself as “perfect just as you are.” Combining both vinyasa (flow with breath) and the holding of postures, students will develop strength and flexibility of both mind and body.

Linda came to yoga so long ago she can’t even remember when the love affair first started. The mat has always been a constant in her life, a place of celebration and sanctuary no matter where she’s put it down including six years living, working and practicing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After a layoff from the corporate world in 2011 Linda turned to yoga and her other athletic and spiritual pursuits to stay grounded and balanced during what turned out to be an almost 4 year job search. Wanting to deepen her practice she enrolled in the 200 hour program at Discover the Wonders Yoga School in 2014 directed by Vicki Garino and quickly realized that sharing the gifts she’s received from the practice of yoga with others was something she wanted to do.
After completing her 200 hour training Linda studied with Boston area teacher Josh Summers becoming certified to teach Yin Yoga. She also completed Nicole Clark’s Power of Touch mentorship in craniosacral therapy and received pre-natal certification through Bec Conant, director of Om Births. Linda received her Reiki Level II certification from Usui Reiki Master Diane Vandette. She has also studied with Johnny Gillespie, creator of the Balanced Athlete integrated movement philosophy, and is a certified Level I Balanced Athlete coach. In October, 2016 Linda began her training to become a 500 hour certified yoga teacher at Sacred Seeds Yoga School at Canton Yoga Shala under the direction of Jacqui Bonwell and will graduate in November, 2017. Julia’s practice began in 2002, and she began teaching in Boston in 2005. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, but deviated from this path due injuries she picked up during her years in college playing Rugby. Gym workouts furthered her imbalances and were far too mundane. Early on, she discovered amazing flexibility and strengthening through Vinyasa yoga and has furthered her studies since then to discover the incredible flow, groundedness, and lightness in life. With the proper training, she has taught styles of yoga from Meridian-focused, to Restorative, to Yin, to Vinyasa and Power, but has found her passion to be a strong fun flow with the desire to bring the student into his or her own body. When this awareness is activated, many wonderful things can and do happen. She has realized the calm, peace, and positive life changes yoga brings after a continued practice, and wants to share this magic with as many as she can.
Julia is physically with you around the room, encouraging presence, breath and alignment, in mind and in actual physical assistance; as she guides you through your journey, with the intention of going deep within to honor where your body is at. Julia has been a Registered Yoga Teacher (R.Y.T.) since 2005 and is currently also a 500H certified Yoga teacher as of April 2014 through Yoga of Energy Flow. Julia’s Yoga education includes her initial training and study with Taylor and Phillippe Wells back in the day. This then expanded for years of continuing education with Sara Meeks, Ana Forest, Gurmukh, Liz Owen, deeper study and/ or certifications with Julie Gudmastead (Author of Anatomy of a Yogi), Jennifer Reis (Yoga Nidra), Jennifer Yarro (Thai massage), Daniel Orlansky (Meridian Yoga) and Doug Keller (Yoga TX), and many others because always being a student is primary. Julia has also discovered the joys of energetic healing, and teaching through becoming a Reiki Master. Currently she is learning from her greatest teacher to date: her son, Henry.

Patti’s yogic journey started in 2011 at a gym in South Boston; the treadmill wasn’t fun, the weights were intimidating, so she decided to give this yoga-thing a shot. With little knowledge or experience, she showed up to a few slow-flow beginner’s classes and with the guidance and support from the gentle yoga teacher, she gained the confidence to kick it up to some power-yoga classes—strictly with the motivation to get in shape for her upcoming nuptials happening the following year. Little did she know that the physical transformation was only part of her yoga practice; her developed meditation and over-all awareness created a shift in seeing life in a whole new perspective.
Shortly after getting married Patti started her family and incorporated prenatal yoga in her pregnancies. Considering she had 3 children in 4 years, she has spent equal time practicing parental yoga as she has her vinyasa practice. During her last pregnancy she completed her 200 teacher training and learned the modifications for practice with a baby bump. In addition to the experience of practicing with a big belly, she also completed a 20 hour Om Births immersion training and received her prenatal yoga certification.
Patti’s cool and calm demeanor can be attributed to her life on the mat; learning patience, perspective and becoming aware of her limitations and triumphs has made her a better wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
